  14. UNDERSTANDING Helps us to grasp the meaning of our beliefs so that our Christian faith makes a difference in how we live; provides insight into God’s presence in the world.

  15. COUNSEL Helps us to know just what to do in a difficult situation. Strengthens us to seek help in difficult decision and to take and give good advice based on Christ’s values.

  16. FORTITUDE Courage that enables a person to do the things of God even when one is afraid. Helps us to speak out in defense of faith and proclaim our faith publicly in prayer and action.

  17. KNOWLEDGE Be certain in our minds and hearts that God calls us to live a life of goodness and love wherever we are.

  18. PIETY Reverence— seeing God as a most loving Father, and all people as our brothers and sisters. It encourages us to praise God freely and to respect all people.

  19. FEAR OF THE LORD Being in awe and wonder of God (NOT, being afraid of God!). Recognizing God for who he really is: almighty, holy, righteous, pure, all-knowing, all-powerful, all-wise, and recognizing our need for Him. Valuing God’s plan for the world, and desiring to build up the kingdom of God on earth.
