Introduction of WASH EPRP • Description of the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) system • Mapping of hazards, potential disaster & emergencies • Management decision on the tolerable risk caused by various emergencies • Reduction of the risk to the tolerable level by comprehensive WASH management decisions.

  5. General Objectives the main objective of WASH Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) is: To guide the action of The Government of Ghana and its partners in a concerted effort to deploy comprehensive strategies in response to WASH in emergency situations.

  6. The specific objectives of WASH Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan are: • To provide a reference document to guide WASH interventions before, during and after emergencies. • To set standards for preventive practices of emergencies through periodic simulation exercises. • To raise public awareness on the realities of emergencies and practice prevention and control mechanism. • To integrate WASH risk reduction measures in all disaster response plans or situation. • To adopt appropriate technology for WASH in Emergency response • To provide adequate levels of commodities and logistics prior to emergency response situation.
