  1. Miracle Juice or Diet Fad?  The  Lowdown On the Dr. Oz Green  Drink    Before Dr. Oz became Oprah’s goto nutrition expert, he was a wellrespected heart surgeon  specialist at Columbia University Medical Center.  During his tenure there, he saw first hand  evidence that herbal remedies were helping some of his patients overcome their illnesses.      In 1994, Oz established the innovative Cardiovascular Institute and Integrative Medicine  Program.  The plan was an ambitious one.  The institute’s mission was to test Eastern medical  traditions using the scientific method in the hope of incorporating new discoveries into standard  treatment practices.    In the 2000s, Oz began appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show.  His initial appearance was a  hit, so Oprah invited Oz back several more times. Oprah started referring to Dr. Oz as  “America’s doctor” and his popularity soared.      In 2009, Dr. Oz got his own TV show.  Today, Dr. Oz is one of the most recognizable and  trusted faces in medicine.      Oz’s Battle Against 10 Corrupt Physicians    In 2015, ten physicians asked Columbia University to fire Dr. Oz for making unsubstantiated  claims about genetically modified foods. In a scathing letter that made instant headlines, the  group called Dr. Oz “the Kardashian of medicine.”      In a Time magazine op ed, Oz demolished the group of doctors by pointing out that many who  had signed the letter were actually proven fraudsters themselves.      One signee was found guilty after going to court for Medicaid fraud.  Another five of the signees  are members of a corrupt medical organization called the American Council on Science and  Health.  The Mother Jones show had obtained documents proving that the ACSH routinely  takes money from corporations to help them fight bans on sugary sodas, defend fracking, and  endorse various dangerous pesticides.

  2. We believe that the recent attacks against Dr. Oz were unfair.  Though he has made a few We believe that the recent attacks against Dr. Oz were unfair.  Though he has made a few  wacky claims about various diet pills, in general Dr. Oz’s advice is backed up by the latest  developments in nutrition science.    What’s In the Dr. Oz Green Drink?    Let’s take a look at the ingredients:    ● 2 medium sized apples   ● 3 large celery stalks  ● 1 cucumber  ● 1 halfinch chunk of ginger root  ● 1 lemon half (rind included)  ● 1 whole lime (rind included)  ● 1 bunch of parsley  ● 2 cups of spinach    The Dr. Oz Green Drink is super easy to make.  All that you need to do to prepare it is throw all  the ingredients listed above into a juicer.  After the mix looks smooth enough to drink, just shake  it up and serve.    The Dr. Oz Green Drink: Let’s Take a Closer Look    Here are just a few cuttingedge scientific facts about the ingredients found in Dr. Oz’s Green  Drink.      ● Ginger root  We decided to place ginger at the top of this list, because the health  benefits we discovered were truly amazing.  Ginger is almost as strong as medicine for  treating menstrual pain, according to 2009 study published on PubMed.gov.  A different  2013 study also available on PubMed confirmed ginger’s antiviral capabilities.  ● Apples  Apples contain pectin, which blocks the absorption of the “bad” cholesterol that  can cause heart problems.  Also, a chemical called acetylcholine has been proven to be  good for the brain, enhancing memory and warding off alzheimer's.    ● Celery  Phthalides found in celery relax the muscles around arteries, helping to lower  high blood pressure.  Another compound found in celery called coumarin boosts immune  system health.  ● Cucumber  Cucumbers contain vitamin K, which is essential for bone and blood health.  Additionally, silica found in cucumbers is good for the skin.   ● Lemon  In 2002, Dutch researchers discovered that lemon peels reduce bad  cholesterol levels.  A follow up study published in the 2005 edition of BMC  Pharmacology proved that hesperidin a compound found in lemons protects the liver.

  3. Lime  In September of 2002, scientists in Africa found that lime kills parasites in water.  Also limonin glucoside neutralizes sugar, preventing it from causing blood sugar spikes.  Parsley  Apigenin, luteolin, quercetin and kaempferol are just a few of the many  antioxidants found in parsley that guard against breast cancer.  Parsley is also a natural  breath freshener and digestive aid.  Spinach  Spinach and all leafy greens are full of powerful antiinflammatory  phytochemicals.  According to researcher Dr. Eddie Weitzberg of Sweden, spinach also  helps muscles function more efficiently.    ● ●   Verdict: The Dr. Oz Green Drink Is For Real    The Dr. Oz Green Drink is no scam.  We looked up every ingredient in the drink and found that  each one is extremely healthy.  Dr. Oz’s Green Drink is low in calories but high in fiber and rich  in vitamins.      If you’re not getting your daily nutritional needs met, downing a Dr. Oz Green Drink each  morning will help you quickly absorb some healthy vitamins and nutrients.    Another benefit is that this drink is very easy to prepare.  All you have to do is process the  ingredients in a juicer then it’s ready to serve.    We also liked that this drink is relatively cheap.  There are no hardtofind, expensive ethnic  foods or spices and everything you need to buy can be found at the local supermarket.
