  1. Organic Chemistry • Weightage • Which Books to follow • How to study • Time to be spent • How to revise

  2. The weightage of organic in JEE • 2005 --- 37% • 2004 --- 35% • 2003 --- 37% • 2002 --- 34% • 2001 ---40% • Organic questions can be solved very easily if u have learnt the concepts well so Organic becomes a scoring part in JEE

  3. Books??? • Follow any one of Solomons,Morrison or Paula Bruice. All three are about of the same level. • Don’t forget to keep the study guide along with whichever book you follow. • Don’t be afraid of the thickness of the book.JEE syllabus is only a small part of the book.

  4. How to study ? • Study in small parts. Don’t overload in one day. • Keep in mind that u understand everything that u read and mark main points specially if u r preparing urself. • Give a geuine attempt on solved examples also.Always attempt the solved examples on the very day u read a topic. This will fix the concepts and reactions in ur mind for long.

  5. Solve the Problems at the end of the chapter only after u have read the whole chapter and understood all the solved examples. • Never try to see the solution before giving a genuine attempt to the problem. Be honest with urself.

  6. How much Time ? • Distribute ur time so that u have equal confidence in all 3 subjects • If u get some good notes and assignments u may not need any more books.

  7. How to Revise?? • Revising from notes is damn simple, just go through it and solve problems from any standard book or assignment. • Students doing self study should go through marked portions and solve some really good problems from their reference book • Main funda of revision should be by problems. Arihant’s Organic can be followed for problems but be aware of mistakes
