Logical Approach Lit Review The Department of Labor stated: • The unemployment rate among ex-offenders is between 25 and 40%. • Without assistance in transitioning back into the community, the majority of offenders return to criminal activity. • Joblessness among ex-prisoners has been broadly linked to recidivism rates. In “Ex-offenders and the Labor Market”, the author states • A prison record greatly lowers ex-offenders prospects in the labor market. In “ The High Budgetary Cost of Incarceration”, the author states • The U.S incarceration rate – 753 per 100,000 – is higher than any other country, and hurts the U.S econmically.

  12. Data Analysis • My program was successful, because participants in the program had a lower rate of unemployment compared to those who were not in the program. • My data was not statistically significant at the .05 level.
