  1. Swallows and Amazons

  2. Swallows and Amazons is a book and a film about 4 children the amazons. They go in a boat to wildcat island. They go on different adventures each day. The 4 children are called John, Susan, Titty and Roger. There are in the order of their ages, starting for the oldest John, Susan, Titty and Roger the youngest.

  3. What we did! First we read chapters of the Swallows and Amazons book. Then we watch parts of the film each day. In literacy we wrote letters to our fathers, asking if we could go and camp onWildcat Island. One Friday we went into our school playground and we chose groups of 2, 3 and 4 to do some den building. Some groups wanted to make their dens in the bushes, also some made theirs in the playground. We used our experiences to help us write a descriptive piece of text about the camp on the Wildcat Island. We also looked closely at our characters and created detail profiles of each one.

  4. !Pictures of them! Susan John Titty Roger

  5. Pictures of our den building!

  6. These are Pictures of us making tents in the same style as the Swallows. We look closely at clues from the text and realised how different the materials were then to our modern tents. Making these tents were fun, but did help us to realise the easy of camping today.
