Lots of children are advised to use sleep systems and are sometimes provided with the equipment, however the effectiveness of this treatment is not known What is a Systematic Review? Systematic reviews bring together the results of all studies addressing a particular research question. They provide a comprehensive and unbiased summary of the research. • The Research Question • A systematic review of sleep positioning systems for children with cerebral palsy • What is the impact of using a sleep system on ... • Hip migration • Sleep patterns and quality • Parent’s and children’s quality of life • Pain • Physical functioning • Any negative effects How will this research be used? To help families make an informed decision about whether their child should use a sleep system. To inform professional knowledge about the impact of sleep systems. What is a Sleep Positioning System? A piece of equipment designed to support a person’s posture during the night. The aim is to achieve the best posture to prevent deformity. How will families get involved in this project?
