  4. Be a smart consumer! • Understand labels • Food labels – nutrients (required) • Ingredients listed in order by net weight • Packaging “net weight” – contents only (not packaging) • Sell by/use by/best by dates • Read use and care instructions • Understand any necessary warranties/guarantees
