What the Strategy Board has done 2011/12 Informing the LEP • Planning for growth • Hotel study • Occupancy research • Arkenford Research • Promoting tourism sector importance Links with VisitEngland • Chair attends Visit England's Destination Management Forum • Rural Action Plan • Prince’s Countryside Trust pilot Lobbying activity • Direct train service to London • Developing relationships with MP’s and other politicians and organisations Business Boards • Chair represents tourism on both Shropshire and Telford Business Boards TBID’s • Looking at possible proposals Destination Partnerships • Chairs or reps now on the TSB Marketing • New Shropshire photographic library • Support for Much Wenlock 2012 activities and Press desk & action plan RDPE funding • 600,000 mailers to promote walking
