  2. HANDOUT—THE DELEGATION CIRCLE (PAGE 2) At the centre at jobs that you must do – those core tasks for which you are ultimately responsible, and for which you are nominated to perform. While it is important to keep these particular tasks under your personal control, any further jobs are eligible for distribution as necessary. Aside from your core jobs, there are those that you can perform in conjunction with others. Consider these tasks to be those that you can consult with others or solicit their advice to achieve the end result. This kind of collaboration is often necessary when you are working to a deadline, or must rely on others to supply part of the information that you need. Examples of what you might usefully delegate include: • Researching &collating information • Compiling reports • Facilitating meetings • Organising an event • Making presentations • Running a project The next layer involves the ‘reverse’ side of delegation, where you are helping others achieve their tasks. Jobs that others can do but you can help with are often things like reviewing reports, making phone calls, checking schedules and entering data, etc. Finally, there are jobs that others can do without your involvement.
