Five Mile Road • Construction Estimate: $2,500,000 • Project Location: Lincoln Road to Strong Road • Description: • Full depth pavement reconstruction/curbing • 6’ Bike lanes, turn pockets, round-a-bout • 10’ bio-retention facilities along entire project • Sidewalk entire length of Five Mile on both sides • New bicycle/pedestrian trail connecting Strong Rd to Heath Ave to provide connectivity to Sky Prairie Park • New sidewalk connection on South side of Strong Rd between Five Mile Rd and new trail. • Start Season: Summer 2019

  20. 2019 Emphasis • Improve construction implementation: • Construction Relations manager involved in key projects and projects that have impact on business/residents • Commitments from both Public and Private utilities for project support and expectations • Implement new scheduling/design strategies • Working at the individual level to address access issues, and clarifying in contract. • Full closures for a few blocks at a time – using strategy from Sprague Ave. • Enhancing communication with those impacted by projects • Strengthening requirements for contractor public liaison coordination/communication/documentation. • Implementing alternative methods of notification (ex. broad postcard mailings, certified letters, more customer focused 2-week look-ahead). • Balance by geography • Projects spread across the City
