Description - What is Results ? • An interactive, menu - driven tool that lets you query, analyze and report information stored in a Progress-supported database • Users with little or no programming experience can easily create reports • Advanced users and application developers can fine tune queries

Setup and Connection • Required Files- Results configuration file ( character .qc or gui .qc7 )- Parameter file ( .pf )- Startup Script/Icon • File Locations- QAD provides Results config files \installDir\results\v1\mfg.qc character \installDir\results\v2\qaddb.qc7 gui • File Requirements - Copy and name appropriate .qc file - Edit the parameter file ( .pf )
Setup and Connection CHUI • Character Client • Login as root on server • Locate mfg.qc in /<installDir>/results/v1 directory • Copy mfg.qc to a central directory and rename it to <dbname>.qc • In each users home directory, create a Results Directory This is were all fast load files ( resxxxx.r ) and other user files will be stored • Copy a user client start up script to start.results
Setup and Connection CHUI Edit start. Results - Replace -p mf.p with -p results.p - Set PROPATH Include: Current working Directory Path to qc file Results directory DLC Directory - Set Home Directory to the Results Directory HOME=$HOME/results;export HOME
Setup and Connection GUI • On the client PC, create a Results working directory • Copy the qaddb.qc7 file in <QADinstallDir>\results\v2 and put it in the Results working directory • Copy or create a results.pf file Remove -p mf.p if there Modify to only include desired databases
Setup and Connection GUI • Copy the progress.svg file to results.svg and put it in the Results working directory Set PROPATH to Include: • - Current working Directory • - Path to qc file • - Results working directory • - DLC Directory • Edit the qc7 Filepublic-directory=“public.qd7” feature-file= ”qaddbf.p” • menu-file= “qaddbmt.p”
Setup and Connection GUI • Manually create a Results Icon on desktop or copy an existing Client Icon • Edit Target: line to include Progress executable, results.pf file and results.svg file • Start in: directory will be Results directory previously created
Setup and Connection GUI • Edit the target line for the Icon to include: -pf <results work dir>\results.pf -ininame < results work dir >\ results.svg -p results.p ( put in Icon Target line, not in .pf file) • Start Database • START RESULTS ! DOUBLE CLICK ICON • Choose no when asked to rebuild • Choose ok through all other errors
