  1. Algebra 1Lesson 4.03Slope-intercept Form

  2. Part A: • 1. I chose Group 1. • 2. y = negative three over 2 x + 4The slope of this equation is -3 over 2. The y intercept is 4. • 3. You would graph this line, by first graphing the y intercept. You can look at 4 as (0, 4). Looking at your graph, the x intercept is 0 so you start at the middle point on your graph and count up 4 spaces. From there, remember to use rise over run. You will start at 4, and count down 3 spaces(-3). Next, you go to the left 2 spaces(-2).

  3. Part A: • 4. –3x + 2y = 8 to change this equation into slope-intercept form, subtract -3x from both sides. 2y = 3x + 8. Next, divide both sides by 2. y = 3x over 2 + 4. The equation is now in slope-intercept form. • 5. To graph this equation, the first step would be to graph the y intercept. (0, 4). You since the x intercept is 0, you just move up 4 spaces. Next, you follow rise over run. You would move up 3 spaces from 4, then go to the right 2 spaces. • 6. The graphs of the two equations are similar because; they are both written out as y = 3x over 2 + 4. At a first quick glance, you would think that they were the same. If you look closer though, you see that one in y = - 3x over 2 + 4, and one is y = 3x over 2 + 4.
