  10. Livestock Breeds…Where do they fit? • Breeds are groups of animals with common origin who have distinguishing characteristics that they pass on to their offspring in a uniform manner.

  11. Livestock Breeds…Where do they fit? • Purebreds are animals whose sire and dam are of the same breed. • Crossbred animals are offspring resulting from the crossing of a male of one breed with a female of another breed.
