Eine Lokomobile ist eine Dampfmaschine in geshlossenerBauform, bei der alle zum Betrieb der Anlage erforderlichen Baugruppen(Feuerung, Dampfkessel, Steuerung sowie die gesamteAntriebseinheit, bestehend aus Zylinder(n), KolbenKurbelwelle u. Schwungrad mit Riemenscheibe aufeiner Plattform montiert sind.Stationär diente sie zum Antrieb von Landmaschinen wieDreschmaschinen, Kreissägen usw.Später gab es dann selbstfahrende Maschinen wieDampfwalzen, Dampfpflüge u. Dampftraktore.
