  1. Evangelism is a critical feature of the Lord’s church… • Matthew 28:19 Go thereforeand make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. • Mark 16:15  And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.16He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

  2. EVANGELISM *A Collective Effort

  3. Utilize EVERY Member… • READ 1Corinthians 12:1-11 • These passages refer to spiritual gifts. • Some christians were granted miraculous abilities that the Spirit gave so as to build up the church! • Even though these gifts were given miraculously, consider that all believers are to develop many of these traits.

  4. Some christians were given… • The “word of wisdom”, 1Corinthians 12:8 • Extraordinary faith, 1Corinthians 12:9 • Special teaching gifts, 1Corinthians 12:28 • Supernatural ability to help others, 1Corinthians 12:28-31

  5. But all believers are called… • Romans 16:19  For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. • Ephesians 5:15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, • Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. • 2Corinthians 5:7  For we walk by faith, not by sight. • 2Corinthians 8:7 But as you abound in everything--in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us--see that you abound in this grace also.

  6. All believers are called… • Ephesians 6:16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. • 1Timothy 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. • 2Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

  7. All believers are called to teach others the truths of God and to serve one another… • Matthew 28:20  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." • 2Timothy 2:2  And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. • 2Timothy 2:24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but begentle to all, able to teach, patient, • Galatians 5:13  For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

  8. Making Use of the Congregation’s Assemblies… • Christians assemble regularly for worship and Bible study. • These assemblies involve praise to God and interaction with everyone present • What happens here can have an impact on those who visit. • 1Corinthians 14:23 Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.

  9. Activating The Congregation’s Members… • 1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. • John1:43  The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, "Follow Me." 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." 46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."

  10. Be mindful of relatives, close friends, & strangers… • Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. • Acts 10:24  And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends.

  11. Members MUSToffer worship that edifies… • 1Corinthians 14:23  Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind? 24 But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you. 26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

  12. Members NEED to offer worship that edifies… • 1Corinthians 14:15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 16 Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say "Amen" at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say? • Acts 17:11 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

  13. When a visitor leaves our services, what will they think? Will they want to return? • Hopefully, their experience will encourage them to return again. • Where there will be opportunity to learn more • Where opportunities for personal study will be more likely • Where eventually the gospel is shared and thus received!

  14. Our Collective Efforts for Evangelism with regard to this study, is nothing more than… • The members of this congregation utilizing our individual contacts, inviting people to services, & Bible Study • Making sure that those who visit are encouraged by what they see to return • When this happens, the opportunity to sow the seed will hopefully be increased
