  2. Project Overview • The aim of my project was to test the effects of caffeine on the heart rate of twenty college students

  3. What I Used For My Project • Twenty University of Scranton college students- 10 males; 4 who drink caffeine, 4 who do not, and 2 controls- 10 females; 4 who drink caffeine, 4 who do not, & 2 controls • A watch, notebook, and pen to keep track of results

  4. How I Carried Out My Project • I recorded the heart rate of students by checking their pulse at the wrist for 15 seconds, then multiplying the number by 4. • Then I wrote the results in my notebook and converted the information onto a table.

Conclusion • After carefully collecting and analyzing the data, I’ve concluded that caffeine consumption does increase heart rate. • When dealing with students who regularly consume caffeine, more stress was placed on the hearts of the female subjects (table 2, column 2) • When dealing with students who do not consume caffeine, more stress was placed on the hearts of male students (table 1, column 3)
