In May 2014, the ISO identified that Maximum Interruptible Capacity (MIC) values for demand assets and performance forecasts for passive assets were outdated, affecting monthly reporting and compliance with tariff requirements. A software fix was deployed to enable Lead Participants to update contact information at the asset level and complete necessary updates. Participants are requested to update MIC values and provide 12-month performance forecasts before June 1, 2014. This presentation outlines the update process and emphasizes the urgency for timely participation.

Background • ISO determined that Max Interruptible Capacity (MIC) Values for all demand assets and performance forecasts for passive assets in CAMS had not been kept up-to-date. • The MIC’s being out of date impacts the monthly DRWG reporting, and the performance forecasts are required by the tariff. • In March ISO reached out to Participants requesting these updates. • Due to a software issue in CAMS, Lead Participants could not make these requested updates through the CAMS user interface for some of their assets. • The issue applied to measures where contact information was not populated, originating from the manual cutover in 2010.
Background (Cont.) • Last week, a fix was deployed in CAMS that allows Lead Participants to add contact information at the asset level in order to complete the updates • MIC values • 12 month forecasts of performance for passive assets • Other registration parameters • Previous work-arounds, such as providing this data via CAMS Service Notes, will no longer be needed • DRA is requesting that MIC and 12 month performance forecasts be completed before June 1, 2014 • The following slides will walk through the updating process
Updating Maximum Interruptible Capacity • The terms “Max Interruptible Capacity” and “Maximum Demand Reduction Value” are used interchangeably in CAMS.
Adding Additional Performance Estimates • Performance Estimates can be added as far out into the future as desired, click green plus sign for each additional month • Months are added sequentially, so data will have to be filled in for all prior years; enter a rough estimate if data is unknown for a past period • The tariff requires that Lead Participants provide one year of prospective estimates • For example, estimates for June 1, 2014 to June 1, 2015 should be provided by June 1, 2014.
Summary • Lead Participants that have assets requiring updates of the MIC value will be provided an email with the list of affected assets. • Lead Participants that have assets requiring prospective performance estimates should review the assets in their portfolio in a timely manner and make the necessary updates. • ISO is requesting that Lead Participants give priority to these changes and that they be completed prior to June 1, 2014.
