Jun‘10 Letter of interest submitted to ONS / Show of interest Sept Kickoff educational event Nov Bank account established Tax ID number filed for nonprofit status Jan’11 Strategic Plan adopted for 2011-2012 Regular meeting schedule established July Election of officers/Logo developed Oct Increased membership up to 24 members 2012 current Regular meetings and educational events September : Charter application was submitted October 22, 2012: Napa Valley ONS Charter Application approved by National ONS

  7. At the local level, the Napa Valley ONS Chapter of ONS will support the ONS strategic area of Knowledge by:

Three focused areas • Recruit student nurses and new grads • Support nursing education • Scheduled high quality educational programs • Encourage ONCC certification among members • Partner with community agencies that have similar interests • American Cancer Society • Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

  9. Next Steps • GET INVOLVED • Read your emails • Like Napa Valley ONS on Facebook • Work with a friend: Join a committee! • Share your interests • Meet and greet another member -someone you don’t already know! • Help to plan an event • Bring your ideas to the chapter! • BECOME A LEADER

Please volunteer: • Program Committee –develop educational agenda, network with nursing speakers from all over the country Chair: Karen Stilwell • Membership Committee – get to know people in the local oncology world, encourage others to join us • Chair: Robbie Woolley • Nominating Committee – learn what it takes to be a leader in various chapter roles, learn about the voting process at the local and national level • Chair: Anne McCaffrey
