Woodlands School

World class professional development and Training School

what are training schools
What are training schools?
  • Training schools are at the heart of the Government’s agenda for a world-class school workforce.
  • They should lead the way in recruiting, training and developing their staff. Training schools ensure that this expert knowledge and practice is disseminated through collaborative outreach with partner schools, local authorities, higher Education institute (HEI) providers and other relevant agencies that contribute to the well-being of the child.
  • Training schools receive £60-90k of funding (dependent on pupil numbers), of which at least 50 per cent must be used for outreach to other schools.
