  • Was a graduate of Princeton University and the only president to hold an earned doctoral degree.
  • Image is on the $100,000 bill although it is no longer in circulation.
  • Ellen Wilson, Wilson's first wife and mother of their three daughters, died of Bright's Disease and passed away in the White House on August 14, 1914.
  • Woodrow Wilson remarried on December 18, 1915 to Edith Galt. 
  • Sheep grazed on the White House lawn to help the Red Cross raise wool for the war effort.
  • The national observance of Mother's Day was established.
