  1. Ways to make your car more eco-friendly

  2. Electric or hybrid cars are expensive to buy and are not for everyone. Luckily you do not always need the latest Tesla car to reduce your carbon foot print. You can start being environmental friendly with the car you own right now. Here are a few proven ways to make your car more environmental friendly irrespective of its model, make or its fuel type.

  3. Check your tyres When was the last time you checked your tyres? Under-inflated tyres don’t roll as efficiently as fully inflated tyres. As a result your engine has to work harder to get them rolling from a standing start. As a result of this your car burns more fuel. So maintaining the correct tyre pressure is the easiest thing you can do to boost your car’s fuel economy.

  4. Reduce weight It takes more gas to move a heavy car in comparison to that of a lighter one. So if you have unnecessary heavy items lying around your car that’s actually adding to the weight of the car, and you need to consider removing these items without delay.

  5. Maintain your emission monitoring system Your car’s exhaust system cleans the exhaust fumes exiting your car’s engine. It’s a complex system and if anything goes wrong your emissions are going to increase over time. Hence, regular inspection and periodic servicing of your car’s emission monitoring system is recommended.

  6. Drive smartly The way you drive can make a huge difference even if your car’s in perfect working condition. When you are driving aggressively, you are actually making your car burn more fuel than it needs to. Smooth and Smart driving is advisable at all times. It’s safer and it’s environmental-friendlier at the same time.

  7. Maintain your car radiator Radiators play an important role in optimizing engine temperatures and this maintains optimal fuel efficiency in different climatic conditions. If you experience heating issues with your car engine during a drive then make sure you have the radiator checked by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.

  8. Finally, always fill your fuel tank correctly. Over filling your fuel tank can be counter productive. An overfilled tank can cause fuel spillage which is a hazard to others and not environmental-friendly.
