  1. How Is The Bolt Fastener Made? Although being one of the most fundamental parts of engineering and construction, bolt manufacture has progressed into a sophisticated, high-tech process requiring several processes. In this article learn how tools like Self Tapping Screw Manufacturers in India. Nut And Bolt Wholesale Suppliers and Allen Bolt Manufacturer Delhi , Nylock nut Suppliers in Haridwar, bolts, Screw Manufacturers In India and Self Drilling Screws Gurgaon, etc are made. Bolts can be made in a broad variety of diameters and forms, but the fundamental manufacturing method usually doesn't change. Steel wire is first forged into the desired shape, heat treated to increase strength, surface treated to increase durability, and then packaged for transportation. For more complex bolt designs, the production process may need a few extra processes. The various Production Processes are: 1. Cold Forging: Large steel wire rods are uncoiled and trimmed to length before cold forging begins. According to ISO 898-1 specifications, the industry has standardised the

  2. steel grade. The wire is then cold forged into the proper shape using specialised tools. In essence, the steel is shaped at room temperature by being pushed through intense pressure. With up to 200 separate parts and millimeter-level tolerances, the tooling itself can be fairly complicated. Bolts can be made fast, in huge quantities, and with high consistency due to cold forging once it has been mastered. Additional turning or drilling may be required for more intricate bolt designs that cannot be curved through cold forging alone. In order to produce the correct form and pattern, turning includes rapidly spinning the bolt. Making holes through the bolt is possible by drilling. At this step of the procedure, some bolts may also have washers applied, if necessary. 2. Heat treatment: All bolts must undergo the standard heat treatment procedure, which entails subjecting the bolt to extremely high temperatures in order to harden the steel. Prior to heat treatment, threading is often performed by rolling or cutting when the steel is softer. Similar to cold forging, rolling entails passing the bolt through a die to form the steel into threads. Cutting entails removing and cutting steel in order to make threads. It is simpler and more affordable to apply threading beforehand because heat treatment will alter the properties of the steel and make it tougher. However, threading following heat treatment, will result in superior fatigue performance. 3. Straightening Process: The heat treatment may cause the steel to return to its original round shape in long bolts with lengths greater than 10 times the diameter of the bolt. As a result, it is frequently necessary to apply a straightening treatment. 4. Surface Treatment: The application of the bolt and the customer's specifications influence the choice of surface treatment. Fasteners Manufacturers In Pithampur corrosion resistance is frequently the main issue, so a zinc-plated coating applied via electrolytic treatment is a typical remedy.

  3. This procedure involves immersing the bolt in a zinc-containing liquid and then applying an electric current to cause the zinc to coat the bolt. However, there is a higher chance of hydrogen embrittlement with electrolytic treatment. Another choice is zinc flakes, which, despite costing more, provide even greater corrosion resistance. After these processes are done, a bolt is created. These bolts now will have to go through some sort of quality control to assure consistency and uniformity before being packaged and transported.
