  1. Fascias And Soffits Replacement Having brand new fascias/soffits fitted to your roof not only makes your house look nice and modern, it also protects the inside of your loft from damp and prevents the wooden structure from getting rot caused by water damage from condensation buid up. Before replacing the fascia/soffits, it is important to choose the best style, color and size of the soffits and fascia for the appearance of your house. Improperly selected soffits and fascia can spoil the appearance of your house. Removing Fascia boards We remove the first row of tiles from your roof. Use a knife to cut a few inches from the existing covered felt and remove the trough. We then remove the fascia with a tool before checking the rafters for rotting. Cut out and replace any areas prone to rotting. Fixation of Fascias We attach the fascia boards to the soffits. Nails will hold the boards securely enough that they do not bend or turn. Boards will be able to support shingles, gutters and the weight of rainwater or snow. 2. house. Gutter installation Attach the gutter and make sure that all seams are attached to the fascia with screws to prevent movement. Test the groove with water to make sure there are no leakages. Replacement of felt Mount the replacement cornices. Put the felt under the covered felt that is in place, and make sure that the felt is placed on the newly installed chute. If necessary, install the bird's comb on the upper edge of the fascia so that the birds can not reach the attic. Cleaning of planks and drains Clean the boards and gutters. Apply silicone sealant to exterior walls to prevent water from leaking in to your wall cavity. The fascia board is the part located at the front where the roof joins the outside walls of the building.  Roofing York CLICK FOR MAP   Roofing Manchester CLICK FOR MAP   Roofing Rotherham CLICK FOR MAP  converted by Web2PDFConvert.com

  5. If you're someone who isn’t a pro at architecture, the terms fascia/soffits may be unfamiliar to you. To try and uncomplicated things, let’s start with a basic understanding of what these two (alien sounding) things are: a fascia board, often known as the roofline, is the board directly beneath the roof of your house mounted at the point where the roof meets the outer walls of the house, it is responsible for carrying guttering as well as supporting the lower tiles; soffit is the board that’s tucked right underneath the fascia board and can be ventilated to allow flow of air into the roof area. Both of these structures are essential to ensure the safety of the loft. Imagine, without the fascias/soffits working in conjunction to efficiently dispose of all of your guttering, the loft (which is the space directly under the roof) would be ruined completely. Without the proper working of fascia board and the soffit board, the holes that form inside these structures would allow birds, insects, and other rodents to enter the house- now that’s something you certainly want to avoid unless you don’t mind sitting around with a table full of birds and bees. Not only this but if moisture from inside the fascia/soffit board starts to penetrate and drip inside the building, the results would be disastrous. Firstly, it would weaken the overall structure of your house; if you live in a house that was built long ago then that’s even more of a worrisome condition. The leakage would eventually spread to other parts of the house and damage structures inside the house, such as pillars made of wood. Adding to it all, the available holes and increased moisture would be a perfect breeding ground for even more birds and insects who would happily wish to form a habitat there. On the bright side, a variety of high-quality fascia/soffit boards are available these days that promise a long and hassle-free life of the two structures as opposed to the conventional wooden structures. Just make sure to keep checking them for any signs of decay or irregularity to ensure that your loft remains safe and clean.
