Pre-Nursing Curriculum • Pre-Nursing is NOT a degree seeking major • Need a 2.75 cumulative GPA in order to switch to pre-nursing • Four science prerequisites • BSCI 20020: Biological Structure and Function • BSCI 20021: Microbiology • CHEM 10050: Fundamentals of Chemistry • CHEM 10052: Introduction to Organic Chemistry • All attempts are averaged • One year to complete prerequisites*

  3. Pre-Nursing Curriculum • Required courses: • PSYC 11762: General Psychology • SOC 12050: Introduction to Sociology • MATH 11009 or higher in order to apply (2012 catalog year): Modeling Algebra • Must receive at least a C • 30 credit hours

  4. Applying to the BSN Program • Cumulative and Science GPA of 2.75 • Cumulative GPA + Science GPA=Determination of acceptance • Kent Campus: Admit 100 in the fall and spring • Regional campuses: Admit 30-60 in the fall • Stark • Geauga • Salem • Trumbull • Last fall GPA average: 3.8 cumulative and 3.7 science

  5. BSN Program Will take three years to complete You must receive a C or higher in all nursing courses in order to pass After the second failure, you will be dismissed Clinical corequisites
