HPI Private Cloud • Research problem: • Tele-Task produces massive amount of videos that require high computation for decoding, audio recognition, features extraction, etc… • Future SoC Lab is massive computation infrastructure hosted by HPI • However, Future SoC Lab can not dedicate resources for TeleWolke project while it runs other projects too • How can TeleWolke run on this non-dedicated resources? HPI Private Cloud • TeleWolke is a master project started at Summer 2012 • Currently, it has small list of tasks: Tele-Task video encoding, H264 encoding, and Brightening a video • A future work is to extend it to: • consume unreliable but cheap resources in public clouds (i.e., Spot instances) • implement other video processing tasks (e.g., text extraction) TeleWolke Hasso Plattner Institute | TeleWolke | October 22, 2012
