  4. Some data • Foreign people taking part in the event: • 100/day, coming from 9 countries • → Finland (3) → Czech Republic (3) • → Denmark (8) → Switzerland (14) • → Germany (13) → Spain (1) • → The Nederland (14) → Portugal (28) • …and France (33) no continue

  5. Some data • 44 Speakers: • 14 psychomotricians • → Half of them are also teachers of ISRP and other schools • 30 students • → Equally falls under 1st, 2nd and 3rd year • → From both schools in Paris, but for the part studying at ISRP • 16 different workshops were proposed, once or twice a day

  6. Some data • Organization team: • Core of the team: 5 • → 4 ISRP first year students + 1 psychomotrician • Students involved in the organization: 14 • → Most of them are member of the local students society

Some data • General schedule: • During 5 days, that is equivalent to 4 full days: • → 50% of the time dedicated to assist on workshops provided by local psychomotricians • → 25% to provided by foreign students • → 12,5% to have an internship in a local hospital • → 12,5% to enjoy free time in Paris • Not included night time events

Academic and extra-curricular activities • French psychomotricians and students workshops: • Mainline: tonic-emotional dialogue throughout psychomotor appraisal, specific disorders and body therapeutic mediations • Topics approached with French teachers and students workshops: • → Body-focused assessments, questionnaire, observations… • → Preterm born children, people with learning disabilities… • → Relaxation (several methods), music, dance, ludic sophrology…

  10. Academic and extra-curricular activities • French psychomotricians and students workshops: • Mainly practicalsessions • → Little groups of students: 15 to 30 students a group • → Including a theoretical part for 25% of the workshops • Standard duration : 1h30 • In the same building every day

Academic and extra-curricular activities • Foreign students workshops: • For the all group of participants • Selective contributions in order to introduce one aspect of Psychomotricity in their respective countries • Standard duration: 30 to 45 minutes • E.g. of approaches: • →Team building games to work on social skills • → Rhythm and songs to enhance fine motor skills • → Painting to express oneself self-esteem

Academic and extra-curricular activities • Internship in a local hospital: • “Saint-Maurice” National hospital (Vincennes) • → In a healthcare service dedicated to people with brain injuries: cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, brain tumors… • 3 different contributions, with several supports: • → Real patients face to face • → Video-based observations • → Discovering by oneself the specific tools and materials of PMT therapies

  13. Academic and extra-curricular activities • Extra-curricular activities: • → Visiting famous places of Paris • → Dinner with the EFP Delegates • → Staying outdoor by night on the river • → Disco parties

BUDGET • Balance: • Total amount of expense: € 8595,42 • Total amount of income: € 8175,41 • Deficit: € 489,98 • Main explanation: difficulty to appreciate the cost of living in Paris • → More expensive than expected considering the area where the Students Academy took place, especially regarding to some kinds of food that we had to buy on time.

From negative to positive • Negative aspects: • Too many workshops, comparing to the insufficient free time to visit Paris and appreciate the quality of life in this city • Workshops too much theoretical: participants would have appreciate to do some more self-expression sessions • Lack of French participants during the workshops and the internship, and of French organization team members to get a more fluent management of the event • Communication not enough clear: use more social networks before the event, and precise documents (maps, remind schedules) during the event • Lack of practice of English for French students and psychomotricians

From negative to positive • Positive aspects: • A lot of different contributions which showed the wide variety of Psychomotricity; enthusiastic participants and hosts, who were open-minded to discover other ways of thinking • Active help from the ISRP students society who embodied the dynamism of French students • Beautiful city and weather that helped to have funny times • Desire from several French and foreign students to take part in the next edition of the Academy!

  22. Student’s feelings • “I guess I have Paris-addiction” • “Thanks to have taken part in this big experience !” • “Still have a great time in Paris!!” • “Heee!! Echt een super mooie stad! :D en verder het congres was ook leuk, veel workshops gehad over PMT in Frankrijk en natuurlijk mensen leren kennen en leuke dingen gedaan! Verder Parijs nog verkend met klasgenootje en 2 finsemeiden en heerlijk zonnetje erbij, kon niet beter! :p” • “Vamos descer as escadas e falar de príncipes e princesas.Vamos descer a madeira, feita em espiral.Vamos ser a noite de Paris, em castelos. A luz somos nós, debaixo dos meus lençóis”

  24. As a conclusion • Despite some little troubles about practical organization, this event allowed a lot of European PMT students to share good times and improve their knowledge of Psychomotricity.
