  2. 何謂Big5編碼 • 相對於ASCII編碼系統，繁體中文系統使用最廣泛的文字編碼則為Big5碼(又稱為大五碼)，這套系統使用16位元(2Byte)來表示一個中文字。 何謂Unicode編碼 • 為了解決不同語系之間資訊交流，目前數家知名軟硬體廠商已合作發展出萬國碼(Unicode)，它使用16位元或32位元來表示每一個符號，共可表示65536個或1677萬個字元符號，足以收納世界上所有語系的大部份文字，除英文外還可以包含中文(繁/簡體)、日、韓文，及全世界各國的文字符號，讓資訊之交流更無國界。

Unicode為何可以國際通用 • 在電腦科學領域中，Unicode（統一碼、萬國碼、單一碼、標準萬國碼）是業界的一種標準，它可以使電腦得以呈現世界上數十種文字的系統。Unicode 是基於通用字元集（Universal Character Set）的標準來發展，並且同時也以書本的形式（The Unicode Standard，目前第五版由Addison-Wesley Professional出版，ISBN-10: 0321480910）對外發表。Unicode包含了超過十萬個字元（在2005年，Unicode的第十萬個字元被採納且認可成為標準之一）、一組可用以作為視覺參考的代碼圖表、一套編碼方法與一組標準字元編碼、一套包含了上標字、下標字等字元特性的列舉等。 參考網址 • http://zh.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Unicode&variant=zh-tw
