  2. Learning Positive Vocabulary • Objective: • To understand that each individual influences what happens in their life by the vocabulary they choose to use. • One doesn’t have to do anything. One always has a choice.

  4. “Have to” versus “Choose to” “Are there some things that you ‘have to’ do in life?” YES “What would some of those things be?” • Make a list of examples on board • Pick one and write it on top of your paper

  5. I ‘HAVE TO’: ?????? Take a few minutes and think about what would happen if you chose to do that action. - Write what would happen in the “I Do” column. - Identify what would happen if you didn’t do it and write those things down in the ‘I Don’t’ column.” “Who’s in control of your life if you have to do something?”

  6. “Have to” versus “Choose to” “How do you feel when someone tells you that you have to do something?” “What is the quality of work someone does when they feel that way?” “You don’t ‘HAVE to’ do anything. There is only 1 thing you have to do at some time in your life that you have no option and that is DIE. There is nothing else you have to do.

NO… • What are the consequences if you don’t? • Do you have to do your school work? NO… • What are the consequences if you don’t?

  8. “Have to” versus “Choose to” • “Who decides whether you’ll do something or not?” • “So it is you who is making the choices?” • “In the examples we just reviewed, your choice of whether or not to do something, had what? • “So what you are saying is that, when you make a choice to do something or not, YOU are in reality choosingthe consequences that will follow.”

GOOD !!!!!
