  11. What is it? Separately Managed Account (or SMA)An SMA is a managed investment scheme that allows you to access a range of professionally constructed and managed portfolios of Australian shares and cash.

  12. Through an Aviva SMA you can… Choosefrom a range of investment styles or managers to suit your personal preferences and goals Diversifyyour investments across many Australian shares Manageall investments through the platform Investvia a super, pension, investment or self-managed super account

  13. What is it? Just like an Australian shares managed fund • hold all investments through the one platform/account • invest through your super, pension, investment or self-managed super account • choose a range of investment styles or managers to suit your goals • diversify your Australian shares The difference is you can • view the underlying Australian shares of a portfolio in reports/statements • save up to 20% in management costs than a comparable managed fund* • avoid ‘inheriting’ capital gains when investment managers sell assets before you invest to fund other investor redemptions • minimise tax when you transfer shares between SMA models • confirm prices in one business day^ * transaction costs may vary ^ Fast Track online switches only – standard turnaround times apply to all other transactions

  19. Howto get started

  20. How does an SMA work? • when you invest in the SMA, we establish an individual portfolio of shares for you that is based on the model portfolios that we have chosen • the number and type of shares you hold will depend on the model portfolio we have chosen • each share will have a different value, and the price of each share can change daily • shares in the portfolio can change from time to time as a result of an investment manager changing the weightings in your chosen model portfolio

  21. How much do I need to get started? • minimum investment: $10,000 per SMA model portfolio • to make it cost effective we suggest a minimum investment of $30,000 • to determine the right amount for you, we’ll need to look at your overall investment objectives and needs

  22. Why use a platform? • a platform enables you to combine all your investments in the one account • makes it easy for you and your adviser to manage and keep track of your investments in a cost-effective way • Aviva’s platform online account and statement provides you with a single view of your investment holdings • you can see the shares in your SMA consolidated along with your other investments • makes tax time easier Consolidate Consolidate Consolidate
