  21. Frequently Asked Questions

  22. Frequently Asked Questions Can certification course work be applied toward the Ed.D.? Yes, under two conditions: The coursework must not apply toward another degree. The coursework cannot be older than 10 years. Certification coursework would apply toward the Specialization Area credits.

  23. Frequently Asked Questions Can I transfer hours from another university? A student may transfer a maximum of 12 SCH as long as it is graduate-level course work that supports the student’s course of study as determined by the advisor. Transferred coursework may not replace any of the leadership core.

  24. Frequently Asked Questions If I am able, may I take more courses than recommended in the typical curriculum? Yes, the doctoral-only coursework is sequenced, but electives are not. Experienced students will tell you that electives should be taken as soon as possible in the program.

  25. Frequently Asked Questions Is the qualifying examination a written exam or an oral exam? Both. The written component is a 2-day exam that covers the course content as identified in the course & program objectives. The oral follow-up exam is approximately 1 hour in length.

  26. Frequently Asked Questions When will the doctoral-only courses be offered? Coursework will be offered on Wednesday evenings and weekends to accommodate working professionals. In the summer, courses will be offered on Wednesday evenings and selected Fridays and Saturdays.

  27. Frequently Asked Questions Are any of the courses delivered off-site or via distance education? Doctoral-only courses will be delivered in Fort Worth, Stephenville, or Waco, contingent upon adequate enrollment. Although many of the courses are delivered in a hybrid format (mixture of online & face-to-face), we currently do not offer any of our leadership core coursework entirely online.
