  2. What is the great commandment in the Law? Matthew 22:34-40 Love God, then love your neighbor. The rest will fall in line.
  3. What is the great commandment in the Law? Love God “no other gods before Me” “not make idols” “not take My name in vain” “remember the Sabbath.” Love your neighbor “honor father and mother” “not murder” “nor adultery” “not steal” “not bear false witness” “not covet your neighbor’s house or wife.”
  4. What about today? We live under the law of Christ, 1 Corinthians 9:21, Romans 8:2, James 1:25 Boil it all down: Love God. Love your neighbor.
  5. What about today? Loving God is easy. Loving our neighbor… Sometimes, not so much. Who should be loved? How should they be loved?
  6. Jesus answers the question. Luke 10:25-28 “Who is my neighbor?” v. 29 Jesus’ explanation, The Parable of the Good Samaritan, v. 30-37
  7. Who Is Our Neighbor? Our Neighbor… Is not just someone we know. Is not just someone like us. Is not just someone who can help us.
  8. A Neighbor… Is someone moved by emotion. Compassion, Luke 10:33 Galatians 5:22-23; 6:9-10 – Don’t lose heart in doing good to ALL MEN.
  9. A Neighbor… Is someone willing to expend energy. Luke 10:34-35 Emotion moved the Samaritan to action. James 2:14-16
  10. A Neighbor… Is someone undeterred by expense. Luke 10:35 Opportunity - a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something. 2 Corinthians 9:8
  11. A Neighbor… Is moved by emotion. Is willing to expend energy. Is not deterred by expense.
  12. “Go and do likewise.”
