  1. Tips to Keep in Mind While Travelling To Jim Corbett

  2. A ship in a harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for-John A. Shedd. When we decide to plan a journey we focus on the destination, the hotels, the sites to visit, the activities to undertake but do we give time to safety while travelling? Well, I guess many of us do not.  While a checklist of other things is crucial we must keep in mind things which will make the journey safe. Jim Corbett National Park, located in Nainital, Kumaon is a preferred destination for many. The nearest railhead is Ramnagar which is 5 kilometres and the neares, airport, Pant Nagar is 80 kilometres. Also, the Jim Corbett Luxury Resorts like Jim Corbett Golden Tusk, Brys Caves,Machaan Resort, Jim Corbett, have the paramount facilities and the beauteous vicinity to explore. So whatever route you might take, here are some tips to keep in mind while travelling to Jim Corbett. 1.Little things matter most Always keep some snacks and eatables with you that don’t spoil easily. If travelling to Corbett by road, sometimes nothing is available for a stretch but hunger cannot be kept at bay especially for kids. Stock on water and lassi or fresh juice tetra packs to hydrate yourself. This is especially true if the journey is taken during the hot months of April to May when temperatures are really high. 2. Check your hotel thoroughly Carefully look at the credentials of the place where you are staying, Corbett offers many places to stay, some are within or close to the jungle while others may be on the periphery.

  3. Look at your priority- do you want more entertainment for the kids than a simple safari? Do you want to focus on the safari? What is your budget on the hotel stay? What is the opinion of the Guests who have stayed previously? After an honest answer to all these questions you are free to make a choice. Most of the Jim Corbett’s luxury resorts are situated in areas that have many fun activities for kids, posh vicinity, great services and with good transport connectivity. Brys Caves Created as a cave it surely has a distinctive look about it. But this cave has everything  to offer from Conference room to movie theatre. The surrounding hills and green lawn with blue swimming pools will relax you.Have a wonderful dinner at the the Timberland restaurant and hold business meetings in the conference room even as you explore the Corbett national park in Jeep safari.Even Kids have a room where they can paint and play. The Golden Tusk The resort is located in the serene countryside of Ramnagar, on the edge of the forest reserve, and is only a 5-minute drive from the Jhirna and Dhela Safari zones. The resort is also conveniently located near some of the area's most popular tourist sites, including the Garjiya Devi shrine and the Jim Corbett Museum. Jim Corbett Golden Tusk is situated snugly amidst 8 acres of flora and tranquilly on the banks of the placid, soothing monsoon river Dhelais, just outside the Jim Corbett National Park. 3.Making a journey is not a child's play If travelling by plane take care to accompany the children to washrooms or elevators at the airport and if travelling by road then ensure that they do not stick their head or hands out. While going for the Jungle safari ensure everyone understands the dos and don'ts within the jungle.

  4. Ask the children to keep quiet, and make sure that no one gets down on track and you follow the designated path in the jungle. 4 Book in advance In Corbett only 60 vehicles are allowed inside the park at a time so book in advance especially on the weekends as the rush is more. The park is closed during the monsoon and dates are put up on the official websites. For example in 2020 the gates were closed from 15 th June to 10 th October. During this period even the night halts inside the park are closed. So make enquiries before the journey. The River view retreat ,spread over 8 acres on the banks of Kosi offers luxury and privacy. The lawns are spread out and can be used for many themed parties. There is delicious food with local kumaoni fare also being there. There is also arrangement for excursions and museum trips if the group desires and thus guests can also have a good time. 5 Decide your activity As mentioned, if you want to go for safari , it is available from October till mid June but if you want to go for Rafting then the turbulent waters of Ramganga are open for rafting only in the monsoon.Even Fishing for the famous mahseer is best when the river is in full flow, though you might be rewarded in other seasons too.Check out for the rates for the various safari and activity rates in the official website so that you are not fleeced by the unscrupulous elements. 6.Keep the mosquitoes away The Corbett park falls in the terai region and with dense vegetation in proximity to plenty of water, it is full of insects and mosquitoes. Do keep mosquito repellent handy and try to wear full but cotton clothes in summers to prevent being bitten by them.

  5. The Tiger groove resortamongst the Jim Corbett luxury resort is surrounded by trees and has manicured lawns which can be used for so many events. Guests can enjoy a splash in the swimming pool or go for a jungle safari. The rooms are spacious with big windows to allow you to enjoy the wonderful view outside. Inform the guests well in advance so that travel arrangements can be made accordingly by them. 7.Winters chill It can be quite chilly in winters in Corbett so keep your woolens and mufflers to prevent the chill from catching you. Some waterproof light jackets would also keep you safe from the morning dew when going there for a safari in winter months. Take some soup packers and maggi if you are saving on money while keeping yourself warm and full. 8. Essential kit Prepare a first-aid kit containing cotton wool, antibacterial ointment, pain reliever spray, and adhesive bandages.Just in case, keep cough, fever, cold, indigestion, and nausea medications on hand.Carry a couple of additional doses if you're already on medication. Those who are prone to motion sickness should take homoeopathic medicine or Domistal, and chewing gum can also help prevent nausea.Wear a hat to protect yourself from sunburn, and bring enough of drinking water with you to stay hydrated. If you have food allergies, be sure you know what you're ordering before you eat it.  So with these tips in mind you are ensured of hassle free travel and stay in the luxury resorts like the Jim Corbett Golden Tusk, Brys Caves, Gajraj Trails Resort for the coming vacation.Book your resort from the most convenient online rental platform, FabVenues.
