  2. The Hebraic Background and Concept of What is Referred to in Divine Scripture as — jyvm Mashiach — Messiah — “Christ”

  3. Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Yeshua stood and cried out, saying, “If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his belly shall flow (gush) rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet, because Yeshua was not yet glorified. The multitude therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, “This certainly is the Prophet.” Others were saying, “This is the Mashiach(‘Christ’)…” (Yochanan [John] 7:40-41)

  4. “This certainly is the Prophet.” “This is the Mashiach”

  5. ta What the People Were Saying: And it came about that when Yeshua had finished these parables, He departed from there. And coming to His home town He was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they became astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom, and miraculous powers? Is not this the carpenter’s son?” (Matthew 13:53). Yeshua Responds: “…A Prophet is not without honor except in his home town, and in his household.” (Matthew 13:57).

  6. ta What the People Were Saying: When therefore the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, “This is of a truth the Prophet who is to come into the world.” (John 6:14). …Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem and unaware of the things which have happened here in these days?” And He said to them, “What things?” And they said to Him, “The things about YeshuaHaNatzri, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of Elohim and all the people…. (Luke 24:18) They (the religious leaders of Jerusalem) said therefore to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?” And he said, “He is a prophet.” (John 9:17).

  7. ta What the People Were Saying: And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying,“Who is this?” And the multitudes were saying, “This is the prophet Yeshua, from Netzeret in Galilee.” (Matthew 21:10). They (the religious leaders of Jerusalem) said therefore to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?” And he said, “He is a prophet.” (John 9:17).

  8. Repent therefore and return, that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Master (Adonai); and that He may send Yeshua, the Mashiach(“Christ”) appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which Elohim spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. “Moses said ‘YHWHElohimshall raise upfor you a prophetlike me from your brethren; to Himyou shall give heed in all that He says to you. And it shall be that every soul that does not heed that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ (Acts 3:19-23) Deuteronomy 18:15-19

  9. …This man (Moses) led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years. This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, ‘YHWHshall raise up for youa prophetlikeme from your brethren…” (Acts 7:36-37) Deuteronomy 18:15-19

  10. …And the multitudes going in front of Him, and those who followed after were crying out, saying, “Hoshi Anah to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of YHWH; Hoshi anah in the highest!” And when He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” And the multitudes were saying,“This is the prophet Yeshua, from Netzeret in Galilee.” (Mattityahu {Matthew} 21:9-11) “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. “Behold, your house is being left to you desolate! “For I say to you, from now on you shall not see Me until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of YHWH!’” (Mt 23:37)

  11. … Yeshua therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. “I know Him; because I am from Him, and He sent Me.” (John 7:28-29) yban NAVI = SENT ONE = “Prophet” abl

  12. Elohim is Ruach, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming(He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” Yeshua said to her,“I who speak to you am.” (John 4:24).

  13. “I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another shall come in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only Elohim? Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe (i.e. trust, accept, have faith in…”) his writings, how will you believe My words?” (John 5:43-47)

  14. “…And the Pharisees and the scribes *asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?” And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far away from Me. But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men. (Isaiah 29:13) Neglecting the commandment of Elohim, you hold to the tradition of men. He was also saying to them, “You nicely set aside the commandment of Elohim in order to keep your tradition. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death’; but you say, ‘If a man says to his father or his mother, anything of mine you might have been helped by is Korban (a gift to God),’ you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother; thus invalidating the word of Elohim by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”(Mark 7:5-13) …See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

  15. …See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ(Messiah). (Colossians 2:8) yban I will raise up a prophetfrom among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. ‘And it shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)

  16. jyvm Mashiach (“Christ”) What Did This Mean In Biblical Times? Let Us Find the Answer From Divine Scripture…!

  18. Enter Through the Narrow Gate Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)

  19. Hand to the Plow But Yeshua said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of Elohim.” (Luke 9:62)

  20. Shepherd and the Sheep Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. When he puts forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

  21. Mystery of the Thorn Bush ]…And after forty years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mountyn:ysiSinai, in the flame of a burninghn<S]thorn bush. Acts 7:30 (Remez-Allusion) …And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and put it on His head…Yochanan 19:2.

  22. Mystery of the Thorn Bush ]anEc]Sanay (a word play on hate of Messiah benYosef). (Remez-Allusion) If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. “But they have done this in order that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their Law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ (Yochanan 15:24-25) Are you actually going to reign over us? Or are you really going to rule over us?” So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words. (Genesis 37:8)

  23. The Crowing Rooster • Mattityahu 26:34, Yochanan 13:38, Luke 22:34 • Y’shua to Peter:Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a cock shall not crow, until you deny Me three times. (Yochanan 13:38). C.f: Luke 22:34 • Mattityahu 26:75, • And Peter remembered the word which Yeshua had said, “Before a cock crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

  24. The Crowing Rooster • B. Talmud,Yoma 20b • …and on the Feasts when many Israelites are present and many sacrifices are offered we do it from the first watch, as indeed the reason therefore is indicated: BEFORE THE COCKCROW APPROACHED, THE TEMPLE COURT WAS FULL OF ISRAELITES. What does ‘keri'ath ha-geber’ mean? — Rab said: The call of a man, R. Shila: The call of the cock. Rab came to the place of R. Shila, when there happened to be no interpreter6 to stand next to R. Shila, so Rab took the stand next to him and interpreted ‘keriath hageber’ as ‘the call of the man’.

  25. The Crowing Rooster • B. Talmud Berechot 60b …When he hears the cock crowing he should say: ‘Blessed is He who has given to the cock understanding to distinguish between day and night.’

  26. The Testimony dj;a, hw:hyÒ Wnyhel¿a> hw:hyÒ laer;c]yI [m'v] “Hear, O Israel! YHVH is our ELOHIM, YHVH is one!” d[ = ‘ad= Testimony, Witness

  27. The Testimony Revelation 12:17- And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Yeshua.

  28. Y’shua: “I am the Door” Yochanan 10:7- “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” In Hebrew: door” = Dalet d = hd;WhyÒY’hudah, a door to the Name

  29. Y’shua: I am the Door Yochanan 10:7- Yeshua therefore said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door (gate) of the sheep. Yochanan 1:14- …And the Word (allusion to the Torah) became flesh, and dwelt among us… Revelation 19:13- And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name (Remez to YHVH) is called The Word of God. In Aramaic: H[rt(Tar’ah) = Door In Hebrew: hrwt(Torah) = Law, Word

  30. The Lamb and the Ram • Genesis 22:7- And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “Behold, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” • Genesis 22:8: And Abraham said, “Elohim (God) will provide for Himself the lamb (HaSeh-hC,h) for the burnt offering, my son.”

  31. The Lamb and the Ram • Genesis 22:13-14: Then Abraham raised his eyes and looked, and behold, behind a ram (Ayil-lyIa) caught in the thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the place of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place YHVH Will See (Provide), as it is said to this day, “In the mount of the Lord it will be seen (provided).”

  32. The Lamb and the Ram • Yochanan 1:35- Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked upon Jesus as He walked, and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of Elohim (God!”) • Yochanan 8:56- Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he sawit and was glad.

  33. The Inscription Yochanan 19:19-22 - And Pilate wrote an inscription also, and put it on the cross. And it was written, “YESHUA THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” Therefore this inscription many of the Jews read, for the place where Yeshua was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, in Greek. And so the chief priests of the Jews were saying to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews’; but that He said, ‘I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”

  35. The Tents of Ya’acov • Genesis 26:27 -When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field; but Jacob was a complete man, dwelling in tents. • Shacharit Morning Service Siddur- Mah Tovu: “How goodly are your tents** O Jacob, your dwelling places Israel.” **Rabbinic footnote, p. 15, “The Sages interpret this as praise of Israel’s tents of learning and prayer. This collection of vserses expresses love and reverence for the synagogue that…is the place where God’s glory resides among Israel.

  36. The Tents of Ya’acov • Acts 18:1-3: …and because he (Paul) was of the same trade, he stayed with them and they were working; for by trade they were tent-makers.

  37. “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter” • Mark 6:2-3And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? “Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon?

  38. “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter” • Psalms 104:1-3- Bless YHVH, O my soul! YHVH my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with splendor and majesty, covering Thyself with light as with a cloak, stretching out heaven like a tent curtain. The One Who (He) lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters…

  39. “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter” • Yechezki’el 37:19. “…say to them, ‘Thus says Adonay YHVH, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’

  40. “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter” • Mark 8:23-24 -… and after spitting on his eyes, and laying His hands upon him, He asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men, for I am seeing them like trees, walking about.”

  41. “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter” • Yechezki’el 34:31 - “As for you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God,” declares the Adonay YHVH.

  43. Pesach (Passover) • jxp Peh Samech Chet • Pesach = Passover • Exodus 12:23

  44. Pesach (Passover) • jxp Peh Samech Chet • P’sach = Lame • Exodus 12:23 • Isaiah 35:6

  45. Walking on the Water • Zohar, Beresheet 240a: • The “spirit of God which hovered over the face of the waters” (Gen. I, 2) is the spirit of the Messiah….

  46. Walking on the Water • Zohar, Beresheet 192b • “And renew a steadfast spirit within me” indicates the spirit spoken of in the passage: “and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters”, this being, as has been pointed out, the spirit of the Messiah;

  47. Walking on the Water • Mattityahu 14:25-27 • And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were frightened, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately Yeshua spoke to them, saying,“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

  48. Wine • B. Talmud, Sanhedrin 99a • R. Hiyya b. Abba also said in R. Johanan's name: …“the eye hath not seen, O God, beside thee etc.” What does “the eye hath not seen” refer to? — R. Joshua b. Levi said: To the wine that has been kept [maturing] with its grapes since the six days of Creation.

  49. Wine • Midrash Rabbah Numbers, 13.2 • I have eaten my honeycomb (ya'ri) with my honey (ib.) implies that because Israel exposed (he'eru) their souls to death in exile-as you read, Because he bared (he'era) his soul unto death (Isa. LIII, 12)- and busied themselves with the Torah which is sweeter than honey, the Holy One, blessed be He, will therefore in the hereafter give them to drink of the wine that is preserved in its grapes since the six days of Creation, and will let them bathe in rivers of milk.

  50. Wine • Zohar, Beresheet 240a: • “His eyes shall be red with wine”: this is the intoxicating celestial wine from which the masters of the Torah drink. “And his teeth white with milk”, because the Torah is both wine and milk, the Oral and the Written Law. It is written of wine that it “rejoiceth the heart of man” (Ps. CIV, 15).
