  1. Whether you're an employer or an employee, there are certain things that you should know about employment law that will help you in the workplace. ™ Here's what you need to know. 1. There are lots of regulations that employers must follow. For instance, there are more than 25 statutes, 100 statutory instruments, 36 European Directives, and 20 Codes of Practice. It's no wonder that employers never feel that they are on top of all the legal expectations and requirements. 2. The contract of employment doesn't have to be written down. The fact that the employer has offered the position, and the employee has accepted the position means that a contract has been formed. However, it is a good idea to have formal written contracts for all of your employees. 3. If you want to change employee contracts, for either one worker, or all of them, then you will need to obtain the consent of all parties involved. You might want to change their job description, change their place of work, increase their pay, or change the number of hours they work. If employees don't agree to the changes, then you can't just change their contracts anyway. 4. A Compromise Agreement is a legal document that will terminate the employment of a worker, and also means that the employee signs away their rights to complain to an Employment Tribunal, and in exchange, the employee is given a full and final settlement from their employer. 5. A redundancy situation can occur when the business has stopped trading, or has moved to a different location, or there are less workers needed due to a change in the demand for the products or services offered. 6. There are time limits for Employment Tribunal claims. Usually this is within 3 months. The time begins either on the date the employment ended, or when the complaint was initially made. 7. In exceptional circumstances, it might be possible for tribunal claims to be heard outside of the three months. Perhaps the complainant was in hospital, or there are other reasons why the complaint couldn't have been made sooner. 8. In some cases, an employee can appeal against dismissal. Perhaps the proper disciplinary process was not followed, or there were other circumstances leading up to the dismissal that were not fully investigated. 9. Depending on the situation, there are no limits to compensation awarded for matters such as discrimination. For other cases, such as unpaid statutory redundancy pay, there is a limit.

  2. 10. For some cases, it is necessary for the employee to have completed a period of service with the company before they can bring a tribunal case. For Redundancy, 2 complete years must have been worked, unfair dismissal usually requires 12 months, whereas there is no minimum amount for a discrimination or breach of contract case. Now you know more about how it affects you as either an employer or an employee, if you need any work related legal advice, why not contact an employment solicitor today? This is the good news and the bad news. If there is no such thing as "luck" and if no one is out to get you, why isn't your life better? It's usually because you don't believe that you deserve "better". Everything in Life is for a Reason, and it Starts with You This is the good news and the bad news. If there is no such thing as "luck" and if no one is out to get you, why isn't your life better? It's usually because you don't believe that you deserve "better". Changing this is not so easy. Our beliefs are usually ingrained from early in our childhoods. Our parents and older siblings impart their beliefs subtly. My father used to tell me that the best lessons came from "the school of hard knocks" and that "a penny saved is a penny earned." They both led me to believe that life would be hard and that would be how I would learn, and that if I would focus on pennies, I would never be broke. The first is interesting when you consider that my father had two masters degrees, and one was from Harvard. And, after my Grandfather's death, I found out that the sea Captain, had over a million dollars in the stock market. So, they were saving more than pennies, but I didn't know this until I was already working. The core beliefs that "life is hard" and that "money comes slowly" are life shaping beliefs. I was raised not to expect much. Perhaps you have some similar to these? How Do our Beliefs Shape our Lives? The Law of Attraction is (Beliefs + Vision)Passion = Manifestation Jesus said, "Believe and it shall come unto you." It's the same truth. What you believe will manifest in your life, whether good or bad. It is the Law of Attraction that makes it so. Your beliefs create pictures in your mind, your day dreams, and your sleeping dreams. These dreams are multiplied by your passion. All this goes into the subconscious mind, which then sends an intention off to your Higher Mind which co-creates with Source/Divinity/Creator. If you think you might get rzlaw that job, but probably not and it's not a strong feeling one way or the other, it's a flip of the coin. If you believe that you will get that job, and see yourself in it, and you believe this with passion, you will definitely

  3. get it. Well, there is one small exception. If the job you have applied for will take you further from your heart's desire, you might not get it because you will be in conflict. The conflict is that you have another desire, another belief and another vision. These are multiplied by the passion generated by your heart's desire and that will always over-ride all other desires. Take 100% Responsibility This is from Ho'oponopono, and Napoleon Hill and Wallace Wattles and every other teacher of the Law of Attraction or Success. You will never be successful until you accept responsibility for everything in your life. Your life is the TV show written by your unconscious. No one else had anything to do with it, assuming you are past puberty. Yes, I said that your family shapes your beliefs, but once you are old enough to read critically and think (somewhere around 16 years old) you become responsible for any beliefs you hold on to. Many of us do this out of a kind of family loyalty. I did this for a long time. But, if or when you decide to have your own life, you will have to make some changes. Addictions can be cured. Partial paralysis can be pretty easily cured although full paralysis is more difficult to reverse. Poverty is frequently reversed. But, you don't have to do it by yourself. Use the Law of Attraction. First, spend some time getting to know yourself and what you really, really want. Once you have locked in on your heart's desire, then ask your inspiration to help you decide on the next step. It will always answer. Then, the Law of Attraction will kick in with help from the outside.
