Maya Millete's Family Beg Husband Larry To Reveal Location Of Remains™ The family of slain California mother Maya Millete have appealed to her estranged husband to reveal the location of her remains, nine months after she vanished without a trace while pursuing a divorce. Larry Millete was arrested last week and pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife and mother of his three children. Maya's sister said Larry was 'controlling' and had previously said he could not imagine himself without his wife, even as she was seeking a way out of their 'toxic' relationship. Maya disappeared from the family's Chula Vista, California home, on January 7, when she was scheduled to meet with a divorce attorney. Her body has not been recovered. On Monday, the victim's sister and brother-in-law appeared on Fox News, begging their jailed brother-in-law to help them bring Maya home so she could be laid to rest. Larry was arrested last Tuesday during a raid on his home, and on Thursday he pleaded not guilty to counts of first-degree murder and possession of an assault weapon. 'It's been hard for me because he's been a family for 20 years and he is a part of my nieces and nephews, so it's really, really heartbreaking for me and the whole family,' Drouaillet said on Fox News after Larry's arraignment. It was recently alleged that prior to her death, Larry choked his wife until she lost consciousness as their marriage unraveled. 'Maya was scared of Larry for a long time,' said Richard Drouaillet, Maricris' husband. 'I think last year was the breaking point for their relationship. There was a lot of red flags. Maya's family revealed that her three children, ages 5, 10 and 11, are currently in the care of their parental grandparents, and they are safe and in good hands. The relatives are now focused on recovering Maya Millete's body. San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan said at a press conference last week that investigators believe that Maya's remains might be located about 2.5 hours from the family's home. Drouaillet, other relatives and a group of volunteers last weekend searched in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, an arid area about two hours northeast of Chula Vista, reported CBS8. They plan to scour other places where the Milletes had been known to visit. 'Now that the DA's office gave us a little more specific area to search, we are all fired up,' the sister said. 'It gave us hope that we'll be able to bring her home.' Larry Millete is being held without bail. He is due back in court on November 4 for a bail review hearing. Millete was represented by defense attorney Bonita Martinez (pictured at left) Larry was taken into custody at the family home last Tuesday morning around 11am, after murder charges were filed by the San Diego district attorney on Monday. According to an arrest warrant, Maya once told a friend that Larry choked her to the point of losing consciousness. The warrant also indicated that May sent her friend a text the day before she disappeared, saying: 'I told him I'm filing for divorce whether he likes it or not. I'm done trying to make it amicable for the sake of the kids.' The court filing also showed that police considered Larry to have 'a frantic, desperate, unbalanced mindset coupled with violent and sometimes homicidal ideation.' Last Tuesday, DA Stephan said that Larry had tried to put a curse on his wife as the relationship deteriorated and she began talking about wanting a divorce. Stephan also revealed the final call made by Maya before she vanished had been to a divorce lawyer. 'Extensive search warrants uncovered a trail of things that were happening, that were of great concern,' Stephan told a press conference outside the Chula Vista Police Department.

A few hours earlier, in the afternoon of January 7, Larry had sent a text message which read: 'I think she wants me to snap and I am shaking inside ready to snap.' May's phone activity stopped at 1:25am on January 8. 'Larry's messages to the spell caster turned from wanting to keep May to wanting to punish a man he blamed for the failed relationship,' said Stephan. Larry has been charged with one count of murder, on or around January 7, and one count of possession of an illegal weapon. Larry was a known gun fanatic, who had been ordered to give up his guns.
