Difference between PHPS and PHAP The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a two-year paid training and service fellowship program. • PHAP is designed for entry-level employees with a bachelor’s degree who are working to gain frontline experience in public health. • PHAP associates complete their two-year assignment at a state, local, tribal, or territorial health agency. • PHAP associates focus on learning the public health system from frontline work at a health agency. They are considered the same as other direct staff at their agencies and complete the same tasks as other employees. PHPS fellows focus on public health program implementation in the major programs/activities completed at a public health agency. Contact: Email: phap@cdc.gov Website: www.cdc.gov/phap
