  1. An Objective Identification of Spectral Distinctiveness on Acoustic cue to Subjects with Hearing Loss Adviser: Dr. Yeou -Jiunn Chen Presenter: Ming –Da Lee

  2. Outline 1. Introduction 1.1 Motivation 1.2 Types of articulation errors 1.3 Paper review 1.4 Purpose 2. Methods and results 2.1 Linguistic Analysis 2.2 Speech Cue Identification • DTW • Identification for Acoustic cue 3.Experimental Results and Discussions 3.1 Materials 3.2 Manipulation of Acoustic Cue 3.3 Subjective Measurements 3.4 Results of Subjective Measurements 4.Future work 5. 3. Motivation • Hearing loss • conductive hearing loss • sensory-neural hearing loss • mixed hearing loss • Articulation Disorder • Hard to talk with each other • Hard to learn • Speech-language pathologists usually supervise an auditory training

  7. Paper review

  8. Automatic speech recognition (ASR) • MFCC • PLP • RASTA • DTW

  9. Purpose • Speech cue identification • Objective • Distinctiveness on Acoustic cue

  10. Methods and results • 2.1 Linguistic Analysis

  11. Consonant Affected By Vowel

  12. DTW • Butterworth • Order-6 • Band 500Hz • Overlap 250hz • FFT • Frame 400 • Overlap 200

  13. DTW • Euclidean Distance • dist(x, y) = |x - y| = [ (x1-y1)2 + (x2-y2)2 + ... + (xn-yn)2 ]1/2 • Boundary conditions • (p1, q1) = (1, 1), (pk, qk) = (m, n) • D(X, Y) = ∣ i(X) - j(Y)∣ + min{D(X -1, Y ), D(X -1, Y-1), D(X, Y -1)}

  14. DTW Path

  15. Distance Table

  16. Identification for Acoustic cue
