Introduction • Tieto Media Point is an internal competence development project in Tieto Devices R&D • Tieto’s Global Delivery Model applied with encouraging results • Technology selections are aligned with Tieto’s strategy and influenced by requirements from current and potential customers • Tieto Media Point project started in January 2009 in continuation of Tieto’s Linux competence ramp-up efforts – initiated already in 2004 • Aligned with Tieto’s values • Knowledge Competence development • Passion Use of exciting cutting-edge technologies • Results Promote Tieto’s excellence in technology

Goals • Typical media center functionality • Photo browser, Media player, Digital television • Intuitive touch based UI • Same UI for various devices(TV, tablet, phone, etc) • BeagleBoard running Maemo Fremantle, Nokia N810 with Maemo Diablo, Qt on S60 • Seamless interaction with other UPnP devices • Integrated web services • Ovi, Flickr, YouTube, etc.

  8. Current operations • 6 teams globally – in Czech, India, Sweden and Finland • Between 10-30 people in total, depending on availability of developers • Next release in the end of September 2009 • Focus on photo browser using state of the art UX/UI with Qt Kinetic and UPnP media server/renderer
