During this presentation, I will attempt to show you how a fully automatic machine gun fires ammunition so rapidly. Using pictures and animations, I will show you the mechanics that are involved in a machine gun’s operation.
Growing up, I always wondered how machine guns fired so quickly. So when this assignment was introduced, I decided it would be a good opportunity for me to study this subject that has fascinated, and confused me for a long time.
According to many historians, the machine gun is one of the most important inventions of the past 100 years. It has redefined the art of warfare and set the brutal tone to World War I and II, as well as every war since then. This machine allows one man to fire hundreds of round every minute, allowing him to take out an entire platoon in only a few passes. Due to this invention, the military forces had to develop heavier battle equipment, such as tanks, in order to be able to resist the power of this machine.
