  2. Summary • After a rough night Alex tells his mom that he is staying home from school because of a migraine. • Alex falls back asleep and has a dream where Georigie is a commander general indicting him for crimes. Then Dim runs up to Alex and beats him

  3. Summary • When he wakes up, the doorbell rings and his Parole Officer is at the door. • After explaining why he is staying home, the officer warns Alex about his antics and that if he gets caught then his next step is jail. • The officer continues to warn him but Alex continues to dismiss his warnings as silly.

  4. Summary • Later, Alex eats his breakfast and reads the paper. There is one in particular story that Alex recalls. • It was written by a clergyman who claims the devil is responsible for the extremely violent youth. • Alex believes that this clears his of any moral responsibility.

  5. Summary • Alex then goes out to pick up a copy of Beethoven’s 9th symphony and while he is at the store he meets two girls. • He persuades them to come back to his house with him, and they accept his offer. • While at his house, Alex urges the two to drink more and more, until they are intoxicated.

  6. Summary • And, to no surprise, Alex jumps on the girls and rapes them to “Ode to Joy.” • When Alex is finished, the girls are made to leave, emotionally scarred and physically bruised. • After the two leave, Alex falls back to sleep listening to more “Ode to Joy.”
