Most residents are on a fixed income so are unable to afford alarm systems, doorbell cameras and motion-detection lighting. Home construction, especially older homes, lacks the latest door and window security features that could discourage would-be robbers. About 20 million Americans live in mobile homes. While mobile home park property owners are required by law to maintain common areas, roads and utility hookups, mandating owners to keep the property safe and secure is not as clear-cut. Nonetheless, just as in any other communities, break-ins and violent crime can and do occur. Top security guard companies for mobile home protection; make it a point for its guards to create a rapport with residents so residents feel comfortable seeking security staff if a security situation arises. Security Camera Monitoring. Security cameras can be mounted in common areas and monitored off-site by security personnel. If suspicious activity occurs, the dispatcher contacts onsite security to investigate, and if necessary, call the police. In addition to professional mobile home security guard services, residents should also be encouraged to take safety steps on their own. AARP provides easy-to-implement safety suggestions. Here are some: –Keep entryways, pathways, stairwells, porches, yards and parking areas well lit. Mount lights up high so intruders can’t easily unscrew lightbulbs. –Keep tree branches and shrubs trimmed away from your mobile home so robbers can’t use vegetation as hiding places. –Join (or start) a Neighborhood Watch group. –Keep valuable papers and items like stocks and bonds, will, valuable stamp and coin collections, and rarely worn jewelry in a safe deposit box. –Lock doors and windows when leaving, whether gone a few minutes or a few days.
