Overall impression • Great progress on all technical areas • Great interaction • New people immersed in the AA community • Gradual cohesion on science requirements • Community is busy with PathFinders/PreCursors • Many top-level issues still open • Risk that we close our eyes for some realities • Planning highly uncertain • Especially for verification systems

What’s needed • From the SPO: • Collaborative leadership • Courage and competence to make choices and face the consequences • From the science community: • Write up what has been concluded here • Continue to bring coherence, seek broad support • From the engineering teams: • Write up what has been concluded here • Combine and conclude: integrate the good work, prepare for tough decisions on top-level issues.

  4. Position of ASTRON • Community asked us to take the lead for the AA Consortium in the Pre-Construction Phase • ASTRON will continue to live up to his • AA-low and AA-mid • Facilitating collaboration • Integrating concepts and ideas • Bringing in reality checks

Position of ASTRON • Jan-Gerald bij de Vaate taking the initiative for setting up the AA SoW with SPO • Supported by Ilse van Bemmel for science link • Interacting by Andre Gunst an SPO side • Facilitating, integrating • => Needs your support • Making choices, bringing in reality • => Will lead to some contention

  7. What’s needed • Courage and competence to make choices and face the consequences • Consolidate what was concluded in this meeting • Combine subsystem insights and concentrate on top-level issues • Single/dual band • Power issues • Computational load
