  2. Who Are We? Sponsored Programs is the Office officially authorized to submit proposals and accept awards on behalf of Boston University. Sponsored Programs specializes in assisting faculty and administrators in proposal review and submission, award negotiation and acceptance, and University policies and procedures. Sponsored Programs is the coordinating office for all pre-award and non-financial post-award needs.

  5. Pre-Award Services Proposal review and submission Negotiate terms and conditions Interpret policy and guidelines Customer service support for the research community Institutional signing official

  6. Research Operations, Analytics & Systems Responsible for the aggregation and presentation of Sponsored Programs data for a variety of departments within the University. Provides Kuali system support and maintenance for the Sponsored Programs Department. Acts as the liaison between Sponsored Programs and IS&T. Supports the operation of the proposal and award workflow process. Manages administrative tasks for the Sponsored Programs Department.

  7. Industry Contracting Manage the negotiation and execution of: Clinical Trials Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Confidentiality Agreements (CA) Data Use Agreements (DUA) Sponsored Research Agreements Industry Agreements

  8. Outgoing Subawards Responsible for issuance of outgoing subawards under sponsored awards to BU, including Subrecipient prequalifying review Preparation of original Subaward Agreement and all subsequent Amendments in accordance with terms of prime award Negotiation with Subrecipient Federal subaward reporting (FFATA) as applicable

  9. Special Projects, Policy & Process Ensure Sponsored Programs is cognizant of sponsor updates, regulations and broad research administration trends. Recommend and follow up on communication, process, policy and system needs emerging from these updates. Coordinate with Sponsored Programs staff to ensure information is shared, understood and that we are in compliance with changes. Lead initiatives requiring coordination with other offices (Post Award Financial Operations, Controller, Information Systems, Compliance, etc.) Serve as mentor and subject matter expert within Sponsored Programs and serve as subject matter expert for inquiries from external offices.
