  28. Mergers & Acquisitions Course Objectives In today's economic environment, companies look to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as a way of strategically expanding their operations and as a means of consolidation. In 2003, about 22,000 M&A transactions were announced, accounting for about $1 trillion. This was the largest volume recorded since the peak of the M&A boom in 2000, and the trend look continued in 2004. With the upturn in M&A activity, the market is becoming increasingly competitive. Where traditionally investment banks were advising the corporates on vital issues such as valuation, structuring and negotiation, there are an increasing number of private equity bidders now entering the market. Alongside this, an increasing number of corporates are bringing the M&A expertise in-house. Expertise in developing strategic partnerships and managing extended enterprises has become an essential core competency for businesses. However, both M&A events and partnerships often end up failing to deliver value to the three constituencies— shareholders, customers and employees. Who Should Attend? Finance Directors, CFOs and other senior strategists in corporates, Members of M&A teams in investment banks, Corporations and legal firms, Accountants and tax advisors, Management and strategy consultants, Government agencies involved in privatization or private finance initiatives, Strategic planners, Market regulators, Investment directors, managers and analysts, Lawyers involved in mergers and acquisitions Dates Location Price Register Accommodation 16-18 Oct 2006 New York, United States $3,650.00 Register now Non-residential • 3 Day Agenda Information Hotline: Euromoney training, 225 Park Ave. South, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10003 Tel: +1 212 361 3299, info@euromoneyny.com, web: www.euromoneytraining.com/americas • Volver Capacitación 2006 ycardenas
