Prompt- Write about a special day that you have had with your family or your friends. • Early one July 4th morning my friend, Kim, called and invited me to go to South Carolina that night to see a fireworks display. I knew this was going to be a very special trip because I had heard that the fireworks were beautiful. • Monday

3. That night Kim and her son Thomas picked me up in their van and we drove to a big field near the Buster Boyd Bridge in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. When we arrived we spread out a blanket to sit on. As we all took our places on the blanket, I noticed that the field was really crowded and loud. My favorite was one that looked like a mushroom. • At the very end, they shot one that exploded first into lots of little swirls and theninto two big bursts of blue. As each new burst of color would appear there was a popping sound. This one lasted longer than any of the others. Everyone in the crowd said “Ahhh” at the same time as it exploded into beautiful colors. Afterwards the sky became dark again. • When we got home, we had cake with red, white, and blue icing on it. That was a very special way to end a very special day. Wednesday
