Waking up early, studying till late in the night, skipping meals, avoiding social meetings, and resisting all your hobbies, a student has to go through these all to get a good rank. Even after putting in so much hard work, some students are faced with failure. Ever wondered why? The reason is that you are putting in a lot of hard work and not working smart towards your goals.

  2. To your wonder, studying hard and studying smart are two contradictory concepts. Studying hard can be stagnant, and stressful whereas studying smart will provide you with more productivity, more efficiency, and reduced stress. Let’s find out the difference between studying hard and studying smart Here are the differences given below between studying hard and studying smart. What is studying hard? Putting a lot of your effort and time into studying is studying hard. You devote most of your time to reading and covering a lot of things. Not just studying hard helps you prosper your work ethic. As you study hard you become more devoted to studying. But with the above-given benefits, studying hard also brings in several negative points. Restricting yourself to where you are only focused on studying will get you to a point where you will stress yourself out and other negative effects will set in. It should not be mistaken that studying hard is not good. But our true meaning is that studying smart will yield better results even after studying less. As said before, studying hard can be quite tiresome and tame and might not even yield the best possible output. But when you follow the smart approach toward studying you can cover all that needs to be done in a much lesser time that too in a shaping manner. You need to follow the right techniques and adopt the right skills that will enable you to assimilate, retain and remember the details in the long run. Studying smart not only involves learning and reading but also lets you make connections between what you study and what you see in real life. A smart approach to studies will help you develop an easier and better way of studying that will bring you good grades, even with spending less time on studying. Studying is not about how many hours you studied but it’s about how efficiently you grasped everything that you studied. Also Read: 10 Qualities for NEET aspirants

  4. Follow the steps given below to study smart: 1. Take a break According to experts, our brain loses its learning capacity after 45 minutes. And hence it is suggested to follow the 45/15 studying technique. Wherein you study for 45 minutes straight and then take a 15 minutes break. The 15 minutes break will help you study again with better focus. Therefore, it is important to avoid procrastinating so that no backlog is piled up and you do not have to opt for last-minute long hours of studies to cover the entire syllabus. Start studying the moment you decide to appear for the exam.

  5. 2. Keep distractions at bay To utilize these 45 minutes to the fullest you need to stay aloof from distractions or anything that puts an obstacle in your prep. Many times candidates are surrounded by their own thoughts while preparing which creates a hindrance in their prep. To keep yourself from zoning out it is important to get back to the topic that you were on to regain alertness. 3. Adopt healthy habits When you are healthy from within you grasp better. Skipping meals or not taking ample sleep will only work in the short run and will make your mind inactive and loosen your ability to grasp. With a healthy diet make sure that you are following the right sleep schedule. The better you sleep the better you will be able to grasp. 4. Get aware of how you learn The learning style varies from person to person and hence it is important to know what style suits you. Some students prefer studying at night while some prefer to study in the morning. Some students use mnemonic devices, some use flashcards, etc. You should get tight with different modes of learning so that you know what is best for you.

  6. 5. Follow a study routine A smart tip for moving towards your prep is by following a study schedule and following it rigidly. Following a plan will keep you from procrastinating and save the time that you might waste in looking for a topic to study. This will help you allot the right amount of time to equal subjects and will help you cover the entire syllabus on time. Thus from the above points, it is quite evident that a smart approach to studying can benefit you with better grades. Keep following Etoos blog for latest exam updates.
