  1. WHY AM I HERE? A look at God’s purpose for man

  2. WHY AM I HERE? Ecclesiastes 1 “What profit has a man from all his labor in which he toils under the sun?”

  3. FROM THE BEGINNING • God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:26-30) • God desired to have a relationship with man • God immediately gave man a law that he must follow (2:15-17) • The penalty for sin is death (2:17 and Romans 6:23) Death must take place when sin takes place!

  4. SEPARATION • In Genesis 3, we read about how Adam and Eve sinned, and were separated from God • They died spiritually, and needed a way to have a relationship with God again

  5. A SACRIFICE IS NEEDED • Under the old law, God demanded that animal sacrifices be done to pay for sins • But Hebrews 10:1-4 says that this could never take away sins • Hebrews 10:9-12 says that Christ came and offered Himself once for all

  6. WE NEED HIS BLOOD Romans 3:23 Hebrews 9:11-28 We all have sinned and it’s through Christ’s death we can have remission of sins

  7. THE PATH John 14:1-7 • The apostles asked Jesus what path to follow, and Jesus says that He is the path • We need to be on the path of Jesus, and it through His sacrifice That is God’s Plan for Us! That is our Purpose

  8. GOD’S PLAN FOR US Mark 16:15-20 • God has always wanted a relationship with man, but sin causes separation • Jesus died so that we can be saved by His blood, and have a relationship with God • Jesus sends out His disciples to bring people into contact with His blood

  9. OUR PLAN…GOD’S PLAN Matthew 7:21-23 On Judgment Day, many people who think they have a relationship with God…will find out that they do not

  10. THAT’S TOO NARROW! James 2:14-26 What does the Bible say?

  11. WHAT IS THE WAY? Acts 2:36-41 The people believed that Jesus was Lord, and that they had sinned. They also knew that they were lost without doing something… What did Peter say to do?

  12. MERGING Romans 6:1-8 Colossians 2:11-13 • I need my path to merge with God’s path…I need to come into contact with Jesus’ Blood • What does the Bible say about how we come into contact with His blood?

  13. STAYING ON THE PATH Revelation 3:14-22 • These people had come into contact with Jesus’ blood, but had left the path (v.17) • To all the churches Jesus says they have to overcome to be with Him • We can not relax and veer off the path

  14. WHY AM I HERE? Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 GOD’S PLAN FOR ME • For me to have a relationship with Him • For me to overcome sin through the power of the blood of Christ • For me to serve him on Earth, and then in Heaven for eternity!

  15. WHAT’S MY PATH • Our path needs to match up with God’s path, not man’s path • Our path needs to be the path of Jesus • Serving God is our purpose…it’s why we are here
