UT-IDEAL PRESENTATION • IDEAL MEETING 04/10/12 @ Bowling Green University
Ut’s transformational project Data gathering meetings with target faculty • Completed: Held 28-Nov-2011 Progress: Provost agreed to the incentive award, and we are already having meetings with our development office about having the award supported by an endowment. Standard FMLE approach (clock, rights, awards) • Meeting with Provost scheduled 12-Dec-2011 Actively promoting grant retention • Accumulating relevant policies (UT and granting agencies); identifying women who took leave during grants Progress: Letter sent out asking those who took FMLAs while holding grants if they would provide feedback on what worked and what hurt and what might be done to help. Awaiting replies (we had to contact anonymously through Faculty Affairs so as not to violate privacy). Promotion/Tenure mentoring by APT alumni Progress: ‘Personalized, speed-mentoring’ program successfully piloted. • “Alumni” identified; being contacted • Target Department identified, to help identify best data collection and presentation options Actively monitoring starting salaries / raises by gender
