Texas Certification • In order to become a certified nurse's assistant, or CNA, a person will need to take a certification course through a local School like Knowledge Health Institute, a hospital, the Red Cross or a community college. • We offer a TX state-regulated class and exam that CNAs must take with help from a licensed RN. • You have to be CERTIFIED to work as a CNA in the State of Texas. • To be certified, you have to attend a State approved school….Knowledge Health Institute is a TWC approved school….S3423

Your FUTURE!! • If you are interested in and pursuing a Nursing Career, this is a best entry level, hands-on way to achieve that goal. • CNAs work under the supervision of Nurses and are licensed to perform basic tasks like taking vitals, assisting patients with moving, and collecting samples.

  5. How do you become a CNA?

  6. 120 Clock Hours ( Required Hours) • Classroom work – 60hrs - 6 hrs a day, 5 days a week Mon –Fri = flexible schedule offered based on your availability = ( see the program director) • Clinicals – 42 hrs • Lab – 18 hrs

  7. Class Schedules: • Morning Classes: 8:00 - 14:30 ( Monday thru Friday) - 4 weeks • Evening Classes: 1600- 20:30 (Monday thru Friday) - 6 weeks • Weekend Classes: 0730-1600 ( Friday and Saturday) - 8 weeks (tentative)

  9. Fees and Payment Plan • $650.00 – Total Fee for the CNA course. • $50.00 – Registration $25.00 – pre-assessment (non-refundable) $ 25.00 – reservation • $550.00 – Tuition • $50.00 – Textbook and Materials

  10. Payment Plan • Initial Amount $ 50.00 • $ 25.00 –pre-assessment fee • $ 25.00 – reservation fee • $300 - Payable after the first week • $300 - Payable after the 3rd week Students will not complete course with balance due. Certificates will be issued after the course is completed.

  11. Future Plans • Become a Licensed Nurse: • Nurse Aide Certification provides an entry to further studies such as LVN, ADN and BSN program. • We plan to open an LVN program.
